A “Stedile, dead or alive” ad has been circulated on social media. Presenting him as leader of the MST and "enemy of the Fatherland", the author offers a reward of R$10,000 for those who can fulfill this request. There are indications that this
criminal action originated from the personal Facebook account of Paulo
Mendonça, a municipal guard from Macaé (RJ). And it was immediately reproduced
by most of the social networks that on a daily basis spew hatred of the
people's movements, migrants, the Workers Party and now, especially against
President Dilma Rousseff. They are the same social networks for the most part
who are organizing for protests on March 15 to demand that Dilma, legitimately
elected in 2014, step down from the office of President of the Republic.
The authorities have been contacted
so that the author of the ad and all those who are posting it can be
investigated and brought to justice, since they are guilty of incitement to
murder.
But the posting is only a reflection of
the sectors of the Brazilian elite who are willing to promote a wave of
violence and hatred in order to destabilize the government and take back the
power that they lost with the PT's electoral victory in 2002.
For these sectors there are no limits, not
even common sense. They refuse to accept the will of the people expressed in
the democratic process for electing their rulers.
They get carried away by coup instincts,
lulled by the support and connivance of the conservative and anti-democratic
media. They use the rhetoric of fighting corruption and the need to remove
those who they believe are destroying the country, to flirt with democratic
rupture. They pose as democrats, forgetting that the governments of the
military dictatorship also claimed to be democratic.
They are the same ones who committed with
impunity the crime against the homeland with the privatization policy of the
1990s.
The poster, and what we see on the streets
and social networks, is a consequence mainly of a partisan media, which
manipulates, distorts and hides information at the same time promoting hatred
and prejudice against those who think differently. The theologian Leonardo Boff
is right when he blames the conservative, coup-hungry media, which never
respected a popular government but wants to heighten the drama of the political
crisis in the country. And courageously names the promoters of the chaos in
which they want to throw the country: the newspaper O Globo, TV Globo,
Folha de S. Paulo, the Estado de S.Paulo and the perverse
and lying Veja magazine.
A media power that has the ability to
hijack political parties and sectors of the powers in the republic.
This media, without any ethics or social
responsibility, shapes its readers with the mentality of the author who made
the criminal poster about Stedile. And it's this media that feeds the social
networks with the most anti-social and uncivilized values.
The PSDB Party, betraying their
social democratic origin, are opposing the government, feeding a collective
hatred that was initially restricted to the upper class, but now sprawling
throughout all segments of society, against a political party and the elected
president. They imagine that they will benefit from the chaos and install their
own party.
A monster was created by
the way the PSDB chose to oppose the Workers Party government and by the
irresponsibility of the business media. Violence and hatred are spreading in
the streets. This creature has picked its first victims: gay couples and their
children, immigrants, the poor of the suburbs, grassroots leaders and political
activists of the left. But often those creatures, who are always hungry for
violence and intolerance, do not even spare their creators and those who are
accompanying them today.
There will be a long journey to
overcome the difficulties created by those who oppose building a country that
is socially just, democratic and egalitarian.
Starting with a deep political reform that
takes us to a new National Constituent Assembly, exclusive and binding. It is
necessary to tax large fortunes and face the power of the financiers and the
financial system. Battles so urgently needed in order to face the challenge of
democratizing communication to ensure equally the freedom of expression
and the right to information, rights blocked by the monopoly media that exists
in the country.
Only then, those who are nostalgic
for the dictatorships will be defeated, and the people will be conscious of the
need to defend the country' and struggle for democracy, and not the opposite,
as the author of the criminal poster believes today.

PORTO ALEGRE – O principal dirigente do MST no país, João Pedro Stédile,
apelou nesta quinta-feira em Porto Alegre, durante ato em defesa da Petrobras,
para que a presidente Dilma Rousseff “não se acovarde” diante da pressão de
setores do país “que querem tomar o poder no grito”. Diante de um público
estimado em 5 mil pessoas pela Brigada Militar, Stédile comparou a situação
política atual ao período da Legalidade, quando João Goulart foi impedido de
assumir a Presidência com a renúncia de Jânio Quadros. Ele prometeu “botar o
povo na rua” depois das manifestações do próximo domingo, para garantir que o
país “faça as reformas necessárias”.
— Se a burguesia tentar dar um golpe, nós temos que assumir um compromisso
de ocupar as praças, acampar, fazer vigílias e daqui do Rio Grande, como foi na
campanha da Legalidade (em 1961), exigir respeito à democracia, manter o povo
unido e marchar a Brasília para exigir que esses idiotas da Globo e do capital
internacional, que querem botar a mão no pré-sal, respeitem a democracia e o
povo possa avançar. Esperamos também que a nossa companheira Dilma tenha a
coragem do velho Brizola. Dilma, não se acovarde. Não caia na esparrela do
ajuste neoliberal – discursou.

E mandou um recado à militância:
— Engraxem as botas e as chuteiras, que o jogo só está começando. Quem não
tiver barraca compre uma. Compre um tênis. Estamos aqui no vestiário, só nos
preparando.
As declarações foram feitas durante ato em defesa da democracia, da
constituinte da reforma política e da Petrobras. A manifestação fez parte da
agenda de ações que ocorrem em várias outras cidades do país nesta
quinta-feira. Desde as 7h militantes ligados à CUT, à CTB, ao MST e à Via
Campesina, entre outras entidades, ocuparam ruas de cidades da Região
Metropolitana com faixas em defesa da estatal e contra o ministro da Fazenda,
Joaquim Levy.
Segundo os organizadores, cerca de 50 ônibus locados transportaram
militantes de várias cidades até Porto Alegre. Havia delegações de cidades da
Serra, como Caxias do Sul e Farroupilha, e de regiões mais distantes da
capital, como Lagoa Vermelha, no Norte.

No mês passado, em ato em defesa da Petrobras, na sede da Associação
Brasileira de Imprensa (ABI), no Rio de Janeiro, o ex-presidente Lula também conclamou
os militantes a defender o governo e a democracia.
— Quero paz e democracia, mas também sabemos brigar. Sobretudo quando o
Stédile colocar o exército dele nas ruas — disse durante o ato.
Na segunda-feira passada, Stédile esteve reunido em São Paulo com o
ex-presidente Lula para definir a estratégia das manifestações em favor do
governo petista. A liderança sem-terra afirmou que as manifestações vão
continuar nesta sexta-feira em várias cidades do país e também na semana que
vem, após os atos marcados pela oposição para este domingo.
O líder do MST usou o mesmo argumento do PT ao dizer que a corrupção é
provocada diretamente pelo atual modelo de financiamento das campanhas
eleitorais. Stédile afirmou que “meia dúzia de gerentes filhos da puta e
ladrões” não podem comprometer o papel estratégico da Petrobras para a economia
do país e que os casos de pagamento de propina são “endêmicos” em governos
liberais.
Stedile também criticou a composição do Congresso que, de acordo com o
dirigente sem-terra, foi 70% comprado pelo financiamento privado de campanhas.
— Hoje não temos mais parlamentares do PT, do PC do B, do PDT, do PMDB.
Hoje nós temos a bancada ruralista, a bancada da Gerdau, a bancada da Vale, a
bancada da Bala, a bancada dos filhos da puta, menos a bancada da classe
trabalhadora — criticou.
O sem-terra também fez uma autocrítica ao dizer que os movimentos que têm
deixado a presidente Dilma “acuada” são “fruto dos nossos erros” — citando a
publicidade oficial em grandes veículos de comunicação que segundo ele fazem
oposição ao governo como um desses erros. E completou, em referência ao
governo:
— Quem planta pepino não colhe melancia, só colhe pepino.
Stédile também disse que não vê problema nas manifestações antiDilma e
próimpeachment marcadas para este domingo em capitais do Brasil. Mas ressalvou
que não aceitará “ameaças”. Durante o dia, a assessoria do MST divulgou uma
nota afirmando que Stédile tem sofrido ameaças de morte e citou um anúncio que
circula pela internet que pede o líder sem-terra “vivo ou morto” em troca de
recompensa de R$ 10 mil. O caso foi denunciado à Polícia:
— Estão estimulando que o dia 15 vai ser não sei o quê. Não temos problema
que a burguesia vá para as ruas no dia 15. Não é esse o problema, pode vir. Mas
venham para discutir ideias, não para fazer ameaças. Porque nós vamos botar o
povo na rua amanhã (hoje, quinta) e depois do domingo também. Isso significa
que essa jornada só está começando. Depois do dia 15, dona Globo e dona
burguesia, nós voltaremos às ruas para garantir os nossos direitos.
Em entrevista depois do ato, o líder sem-terra criticou a presidente Dilma
e disse que ela foi eleita para fazer reformas populares, e não um ajuste
neoliberal. Stédile criticou os cortes orçamentários na educação e na saúde e
lembrou que desde outubro do ano passado nenhum novo contrato do programa Minha
Casa Minha Vida foi assinado.
Também disse que o MST continua esperando pelos assentamentos prometidos
por Dilma na campanha. Stédile pediu que a presidente oriente o Ministério do
Desenvolvimento Agrário e o ministro Joaquim Levy a cumprirem as promessas eleitorais
— ele citou que, nos dois últimos anos, apenas 17 mil famílias foram
assentadas, das mais de 90 mil que continuam acampadas no país.
O sem-terra também defendeu a estatização da Companhia Brasileira de
Alimentos (Conab), transformada pelo PTB, segundo ele, em paraíso para as
“negociatas do agronegócio”.
— Dona Dilma, entregue a Conab aos camponeses porque nós sabemos produzir
alimentos para o povo sem roubalheira — afirmou.
No mês passado, em ato em defesa da Petrobras, na sede da Associação
Brasileira de Imprensa (ABI), no Rio de Janeiro, o ex-presidente Lula também conclamou
os militantes a defender o governo e a democracia.

Stédile colocar o exército dele nas ruas — disse durante o ato.
